I just finished this little purse today. I have started having purse & jewelry parties with a friend that makes jewelry. This was an order from my first purse party. I am hoping that some more people want to have parties because I like that MUCH better than sitting around at craft shows hoping to sell something.

I also embroidered initials on the front of the purse with my new embroidery machine. I didn't know it when I bought the machine but machine embroidery has a HUGE learning curve. I have been to a couple of classes but I am still learning each time I try to embroider something.

I have some ideas for some more purses with embroidery on them so stay tuned to see what kind of creativity I can crank out.

This was the question I was asked when I stopped in a newly discovered quilt shop nearby. So I had to confess. I actually hadn't quilted anything when I visited that quilt shop. But I had some wonderful projects in mind that I was going to quilt.

I have been studying my new Machine Made Patchworks book I mentioned in my last post. Even though it is in Japanese, I have been figuring some of it out. I was able to figure out how to make these cool quilted purses. I started with the red and denim purse first. That purse is actually made of scraps. I wanted to start with it first so I didn't mess up any of my new fabrics from the quilt shop. It went pretty smoothly on the first try so then I was off to the races.

I am really enjoying making these little purses. They are a bit time consuming but so so cute. I made one for myself that is not pictured here. It is made from soft pinks, cream and browns. The hubby didn't like it so much because he said it reminded him of that shabby chic look. But that is why I LOVE it so. I'm definitely a shabby chic fan.

Well I'm heading back to the sewing machine. I'm doing a couple of swaps for some jewelry and then I'm also preparing for a craft fair that I am doing on March 24th. I'll be back to post when I have made something else that is cool. Until then happy crafting to all!
