New fabrics July 28, 2007

I just felt like I had to get out yesterday. For the last three weeks, it seems that the only time I have been out of the house was to take mom-to-be to the doctor or to do some preparations for mom-to-be's baby shower. I was completely stir crazy. I knew a little fabric shopping would get rid of that feeling.
I went to a quilt shop that I had always wanted to visit. It was about 30 minutes away but the drive did me good. I turned up my music and sang at the top of my lungs while I drove. I liked the feeling that my trip was all about me.
After I got to the quilt shop it was sort of like fabric heaven. They have mostly reproduction-type fabrics but some of them were completely adorable! There was this one fabric with hot pink flowers and a teeny bit of green. There was a print with little mice all over it. I had to get fat quarters of it in blue and green. There was some with Scottie dogs all over it. And there was a print with Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. Of course, I got a fat quarter of it too. I have no idea what i am going to do with these fabrics so I got fat quarters of most of those. I'm sure I will will turn them into wristlets or other little zippered pouches.
Now today will be spent organizing my fabrics on my new fabric rack. Organizing is not my forte' so I'm sure I will shift everything around about a million times before it is set like I want it. I'm loving my new studio and I will be so glad when I get everything where I can find it.
