What was I thinking?! I read a blog one day and the blog author posted a tutorial to make a purse that was adorable. I love the purse. I proceeded to use the tutorial to make several of these purses myself. So the nice lady that posted the tutorial said she got the instructions from her new Japanese craft book called Machine Made Patchworks.
So I research and I find said Japanese craft book. The website did state that the books were written in Japanese but the tutorial seemed so easy that I just knew I could get more cool instructions and patterns from this book. So I took the plunge and ordered the book. It was ridiculously expensive but I didn't realize this at first because the price is listed in pounds -- as in the currency of Great Britian. Silly me -- I didn't even check exchange rates because I just HAD to have this book. I mean HAD to have it so bad that I had a dream about it! Talk about sucked in!
So my nifty little book arrived in the mail today after about a 2 week wait. And now I know why foreign people have such a hard time when they come to our country. I poured over the book for about an hour this evening. Talk about gibberish! I don't get any of it. I am definitely going to try to make out some of the patterns but don't anyone out there hold their breath.
And the worst part of it is that I have visited the website where I got the Machine Made Patchworks book and I have my eye on another Japanese craft book that I think I REALLY need. Sheesh! I don't learn my lessons very well do I?
